When the Well is Dry, Find an Artist

As a writer, I am all too familiar with writer’s block. I wish I’d never been acquainted with it, and yet here we are.

When I do find myself blocked and uninspired, I find that looking at someone else’s art is very inspiring.

I like to think that though I may never get to explore the depths of the sea or the outer edges of the galaxy, I do have the privilege of exploring a vast area with so many places still undiscovered: the imagination.

So on the days where my imagination is a wide plain of boring gray, I look to others and how they bring the discoveries of their own imagination to light.

A resource I love to explore on days like these, and has yet to fail me, is a website called Wallpaper Abyss.

Here, you can find art and photography of all different kinds of categories, from fantasy to sci-fi to artistic to technology. It’s just a treasure trove of goodies to look through.

Perhaps, if you’re feeling uninspired, you can give it a look through and find something that inspires you, and be sure to thank the artist, whether through a comment or in your own head, for their work.
